Lollipop Music Store — 2 Bd Théodore Thurner. Monday 2:00–7:00 PM; Monday is its short day, so don’t leave it until 6:45 PM. Record shop and gig room in one.
Joker × Apéro Skateshop — 16 Place Notre-Dame du Mont. A skate shop hidden inside a bar, with a mini ramp in the back. Hours unverified — ring before you walk.
Board Spirit — 27 Bd de la Libération. The other board shop, if he needs a deck, wheels, or bearings before the bowl.
Three hours, not eight. Water’s warmest, the sun is off its peak, the crowds are thinning, and the light on that bay between 7:00 and 9:00 PM is the best free thing in Marseille.
Twenty metres off the sand sits the Bowl du Prado — built 1991, home of the ProBowl, one of the two or three most-filmed concrete bowls on earth. Free, open, no session times. The local crew turns up in the evening, not at noon, which is exactly when you’ll be there.
Swim off the rocks the way Marseille actually swims — tiny inlets, clear water, no beach infrastructure and no beach crowd. It costs you the skatepark, so it’s the pick only if Fleetwood skips the bowl.
MapNapoleon III’s headland, now a public park, sitting directly on the mouth of the Vieux-Port with the whole harbour and the Frioul islands laid out in front of it. Locals bring a bottle and sit on the grass. The view is the splurge — and it costs nothing, on a trip where that matters.
MapChez Étienne — 43 rue de Lorette. Monday 8:00–11:00 PM. Wood-fired pizza half-and-half, lamb chops, supions. Cash only, no reservations, no printed menu — you get told what you’re eating. The institution most visitors walk straight past on their way to a quay-side tourist trap.
Le Vieux Panier — 13 Place de Lenche. Monday 7:00–10:30 PM. If you’d rather book a table and sit out on a square than queue with cash.
Chez Étienne Le Vieux PanierJennifer & Mike: a clean 90. Le Panier at empty-o’clock, Ricciotti’s building, a cave that shouldn’t exist, a market lunch, a free sunset on a headland, and a cash-only pizzeria that has been doing one thing since the 1940s.
Fleetwood: Cours Julien walls → Lollipop → a skate shop inside a bar → the Prado bowl at golden hour with the local session. None of it is kitsch. The bowl in particular is a genuine pilgrimage, rough concrete and all.
The hinge is 4:30 PM at the Prado — it’s the one slot where all three of you are doing the same thing and all three of you want to be there. That’s the 70/70/70, and it’s also the short beach hit you asked for.
